Lions hear details about MO SWITCH

Shawn Hayden, chief executive officer for Missouri Southwest Initiative to Change Health (MO SWITCH), shared detailed information about his role as a grant writer when he addressed the Monett Lions Club members.

Hayden described how he labors to secure funding and works to deliver services to improve the health of area residents. Identification of those individuals in need of health care assistance is paramount for preventive healthcare and for the treatment of those individuals experiencing ongoing needs, he said.

Monett Lions are deeply involved in the promotion of a healthier community, as is evidenced by their historic involvement in sight related issues, their expanding support of diabetes identification and education, and their latest venture of providing assistance to the hearing impaired.

Hayden works on health issues for Cox Monett Hospital, and managed the community outreach for the grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health through Cox Monett.

After-School Adventures Program

MO SWITCH is excited to announce that we will be sponsoring the After School Adventure Program in partnership with the First Baptist Church of Pierce City. The program will provide children in grades K-5th with healthy food, exercise, and fun! The program will be held every Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm starting September 18th. MO SWITCH would like to thank all of our donors for assisting us in the funding of this program and for the continued support to help better our community.

Health cannot be a question of income; it is a fundamental human right.
